13 octobre boyzone in my lifeit was a shock to hear about stephen gately's death yesterday..
the blind performer at the mrt station was singing "Words" when i passed by yesterday..
i was never a fan of boyzone back then but they do have some nice hits. I like "Picture of You"..
the biggest boyzone fan i know is the other sc. but her fav is not ronan, and not even stephen! she liked shane haha.. wonder if she still likes them now..
once, in a rare English singing competition during Form 2, we even took part and the song we chose was Boyzone's "Love Me For A Reason". who were we? haha.. me, frog, tan and ly.. we agreed on wearing black and somehow i did not hv a black top and borrowed one from ly. crazy..
i forgot who won the group competition but the solo winner surely went to eilyn.. her song was Celine Dion's "The Power of the Dream"... i still remember lesley sang Mariah Carey's "Hero"

anyway, mika is the name i randomly give to my new camera
 its official name is vivitar ultra wide and slim. well, mika is easier to type than vivitar or katrina or molly or whatever!after for like 2 years, i finally got my first 'lomo' camera. the parentheses is because the camera i got is not exactly a lomo camera, but it does produce lomo-like effects haha.. it's a cheap plastic camera.

i bought mika online from another gal.. but before that, phew.. the trouble i went through!
i asked a few overseas frens to help me get them, either locally or through their ebays. numerous bumps!
i went to those old shops at larkin to see if they stocked any model that i want but they had none. suggested me to go to those small small towns and try my luck. of course, which other small town would be more perfect than parit raja? hahaha..
so i got off at parit raja on my way back to bp and went camera-hunting! i tried all possible shops, from camera shops to those shops selling chapalang stuff, but none had the model i was looking for!
luckily 皇天不负苦心人, i landed my hands on one after bout 2 months!
there was so much to do before i can get mika up and running. buying film, learning how to load the film, learning how to shoot a picture, things to note, and also steps to unload the film! google and youtube are amazing!

the novelty of shooting in film is indescribable. you dun get to review the picture you took instantly, so u wun know how your picture will turn out.. haha, also the action of winding the wheel to move to the next frame produces the tiak-tiak-tiak sound, which my sis kept making fun of! ah.. and the joy of peering through the viewfinder! i got a bit confused between the digital and mika after that

of course, shooting in film has its disadvantages.
no 1. you have to finish the whole roll before u get to see the pics.
no 2. developing cost an arm and a leg.
no 3. the pictures dun have the resolution offered by digital camera, which i'd like to have sometimes.. oooo, but the vignetting!
no 4. no auto-timer!
no 5. ppl think you are crazy.
but anything vintage always fascinate me! the artistic/fashion shots taken with a lomo camera are amazing.. but i really bu she de! on average, a picture costs bout 50cents! and that's soft copy still. you dun even have the physical picture! so most of the time, i'd rather have someone's face in them haha..
the next film camera i wanna buy...

some time back, saw this movie on tv.
 really nice, it's something like Love Actually.. all the characters are somehow connected to each other but have their separate love chapters.. i like the female lead (upper right pic). not the typical pretty face but i find her very beautiful. and the soundtrack is good too!
hmm.. and inglorious basterds was also damn nice!

haha, mika = my new camera la... 29 juin 30th june, important!despite not updating often, i find that i'm actually in the blogging mode most of the time. sometimes i think in the way of how i would word it here. especially when i'm walking or showering!
living without a proper phone for the last few weeks had been a nightmare. all contacts gone, important dates got forgotten and i had to write down notes on a piece of A4 paper and carry it about! pathetic..
 was also reminded of how we used to play 'miss call' back in the hostel. crazy!
but due to the loss, i've established my brain can still remember quite a few numbers. to date, i can remember 11 singaporean numbers hahaha. i still have a wonderful collection of malaysian numbers in my head. now, that is memory degeneration!

 with all the flights going on sale all the time, i get very frustrated cuz i get pushed to confirm my schedule and to date, i've never enjoyed any offer! why? because i'm too lazy to make instant plans and i'm unsure of my schedule months ahead. and i can't fly as i wish. else i might fail a subject and extend another year of study hahaa.. to solve this, i've printed out a monthly calendar until june 2010! yes! i discovered that i actually like macau a lot. can fly from penang rm131.. crazy!

and the most bizarre of all? been reading Niamah!!! for ages and yesterday, relevation suddenly hit me. the guy who's always seen in channel 5's shows is him! i can't believe myself -______-
30th june.. in 1.5 hours! 21 mai premonition of me!you know how sometimes you are doing some things for some reasons which you yourself can't explain? it's not deliberate but your mind/heart just tells you to do so.
the other day, i went windsurfing. i fared so much better! of course, depending on wind conditions haha. anyway, there wasn't much wind that day but i still managed to get myself bout 500m away from shore hahahaha.. i feel proud!
that is until i discovered i had problem getting back to shore. got a bit worried. looked around and still see quite some people. so i sailed on and enjoyed the wind..
soon, i got scared. so i stopped a guy nearby and asked for his help. haha, we both jumped into the water and dragged our boards to have a chat in the middle of the sea. when he told me his name is fabio, i showed him my maldini shirt, which i happened to had on hehe!
so, fabio was teaching me how to return to shore.. then we heard the motor from the rescue powerboat. the uncle approached us and asked if we had problem heading back, as the wind direction was making it difficult. so i got on the boat thankfully and thanked fabio, who was fine with making his own way back.
uncle picked up another guy and we headed back.
i asked him if he was gonna drop us right at the shore. he said yes.
i asked if he could drop me some distance away, so that i can try to sail back myself. he said best if not, in case he had to rescue me again.
i thought about it for a while.
and asked again. he said there were still many others he had to rescue today.
so i shut up.
when we neared the shore, i thanked the uncle and got myself out. once he was off to rescue his next load, i got stung.
by a stupid jellyfish!

 anyway, the pain from the sting went off after a few hours. when i think back of how i panicked, haha, so embarassing.. 9 mai bits and piecesafter my super long break, was finally back to work on Tuesday. the night before, i specially arranged for morning calls and set 3 alarms.
-- i woke up at almost 9am the next day. the stupid phone went dead middle of the night! so much for my starting work on a good note
 my colleague was so funny.. he put a few pens/pencils between his fingers and clenched his fist.. he then asked me, "wanna watch this?"

i had fish head steamboat on monday night. on wednesday night, i had the same thing again! but at a different outlet. now only i know the whampoa keng has more than one shop, cuz i always go to the same one at balestier.. and i realized i'm eating normally again!
 yes, i'm loving food all over again haha. recently realized how scary fatigue and stress can be. and i found another strawberry chocolate! meiji's.. nice! love their milk too..
did a most embarrassing thing yesterday. not wanting to be (too) late for dinner, i decided to splurge a bit and take a cab.
so i flagged a cab and the moment it stopped, i felt something was wrong already..
that cab was big, posh and spelled royalty!
what to do, the cab already stopped.. so i got on. and asked the driver,
"are you very expensive?"
haha.. and this became the joke of the dinner man.. the driver actually said yes and i dunno whether he asked if i wanted to get off or if i asked whether it was okay for me to get off. anyway, i got off and within moments, my bus arrived hehe.
today i found out, it was a Chrysler Cab, the king of all limousine cabs!

it has a flag-down rate of 5 dollars! luckily i got off! so stop laughing at me already! last i checked, i wasn't on youtube yet hehehe..
my life is no longer complete without facebook! all the updates are in facebook these days. i'm totally unaware of all the happenings! so outdated! sigh, the other day i forgot how to log in to skype.. maybe my msn also rusty from lack of use hahaha..
there was an accident at my place some nights ago.. a gal lost control of her bike and crashed.. luckily she got flung onto grass and was wearing a helmet. thankfully, there wasn't any blood.. anyway, when i wanted to call a ambulance, then i realized i dunno the number haha.
i want a dslr too. seriously thinking to get one now.. everyone around me seems to have one! i love the focus of a dslr! did not take any photos during simon's wedding cuz my beloved sony flew off to australia.. i did loan a lumix but reli no semangat to learn the camera's operation! a bit tricky for my liking.. maybe i should borrow a dslr to play around a bit, see whether it's suitable or not before making the investment hahaha.. seems a bit inconvenient though. hmm... 13 avril is mesometimes i do a search for an old japanese anime.

 i've created a google alert for it, so hopefully someday i'll get my hands on it! although there are times when i feel the need to take some pictures, self-consciousness always triumphed over the intent. i'm still not able to handle the question, "like this also have to take picture ar?" question. haha.. end up i have to do some google image search to illustrate the incidents below.
i've been spending my weekend trying to finish a group project. went over to a projectmate's office to work on it and they have this kind of drinking water pot at their place..
i miss this kind of pot! my primary school tuition teacher, miss ng, has one of these at her place and she used to remark that we drink a lot of water at her place, maybe her water is sweeter. i think it's the container! hers is the chinese white-blue style and the one i encountered lately is a chinese flower-y one. i'm gonna get one of those!
talking about the project, we pia until 4am.. no kidding. even ordered a mcdelivery at 2am haha. tough tough, but at least we're 90% done now
 crashed a bbq the other day, and i was so amazed with the creativity of the bbq pit! they used those large kedai runcit biscuit tins! didn't have time to take a picture as we were famished! when my stomach was finally pacified, the pit was already dismantled..
in order to share this great way of building a bbq pit, i tried to search for some images of that method, but even finding a pic of the kedai runcit biscuit tin (anyone understand what i'm saying here? haha) yields no results. so i did some crude illustration la..
  awesome bbq setup good onot?! the kedai runcit biscuit tin has an opening large enough for you to arrange your coal yet can confine all the coal and the ashes remain inside! the flame will also not get to your food and yet the heat will be transmitted to the wire mesh. so clever!

taken up windsurfing and loving it to bits. okay, maybe not. haha..
i did not care bout the afternoon sun or the jumbo-sized raindrops at all. sailing in the wind was fun, that is when i was standing on my board and not struggling to hoist the sail up. falling into the water was also fun! when i was tired, i just lie on my board for a short while and bobbed in the sea aimlessly.. so relaxing! but the paddling part afterwards is pure torture haha.
i've lost touch with 'keeping in touch' for the longest while. i can't recall the last time i chatted on msn. now that my kl colleague has transferred to sg, i no longer on my skype. as for calls and smses, my mind is in such a whirl these days then i forgot to even send birthday wishes to a few great friends. it was there on my mind the whole day but i just keep forgetting.
i reli feel disheartened to get to work these days. hv to drag myself out of bed every weekday morning. why are there only 2 days of weekend in a week? ping said that's the million-dollar question haha..
i wanna be like mayday's 离开地球表面 but then the email forwarded by kin said that happiness is a voyage, not a destination. so whenever the need arises, i will think of happy thoughts. my happy thoughts? a giant (usually rock) block spelling the letters H A P P Y haha. and i'm always viewing it from Y's end. subconsciously telling myself that i gotta return to the start to be happy?
so many plans for holidays but none have been confirmed. i just reli can't find the energy to do it. in the past i would say because i'm lazy but i'm usually very enthu when it comes to making holiday plans. now i'm just like a changed person. reli dunno what's come over me.
my tinnitus condition worsen some days. the 'eeeeeeeeeeeee' ringing is very evident.
'i've started to go for a jog after my monday class'. that sentence expired. now no longer running haha. but the swim the other day was awesome!

1. uploading the pictures
you can upload the files one by one or use the bulk uploader. however, the bulk uploader does not support firefox and i had to go use my antique IE.
 i uploaded 52 pics (bout 56M) in 30+ minutes. reasonable speed i suppose cuz i wasn't reli paying attention to the uploading progress haha.
you can also upload your pictures to their online album service and print straight from there. but there are reli too many places to upload pictures these days. if they enable photo printing straight from facebook then it'd be great! save one time uploading haha.
2. once u're done uploading, then you select the photos you wanna print.
 see the "Apply to All" button? very useful! just choose the size for the first pic and click that button. i just saved all the pictures i wanna print into a folder and used this function.
3. afterwards you'll be directed to verify your orders.
they do allow different billing and shipping adresses, so it's pretty convenient if you wanna send some photos to others hahaha..
4. lastly, you choose your mode of payment
ie credit card, bank transfer or bank-in.
easy right?!

 2005-07-18: bbq was such a easy affair back then and weichern's thai chicken was amazing! we even had wujiapi (some sort of chinese wine) to go with lun's vodka.
 2005-08-26: then we created havoc at the anugerah dekan's ceremony by cheering loudly whenever it was our turn. aw.. i miss my that pair of shoes!

now just sit back and wait for the photos to arrive! 19 janvier a little self-reflectionwent for a spa treatment which was on promotion yesterday..
consisted of: a 20mins steam, a 10mins back scrub, a 15mins jacuzzi session and a 30mins back massage.
i fell in love with spa treatments when we first had it in phnom penh, cambodia. but it's difficult to find a cheap one in sg! but now i understand when ping said there is a difference. the equipments and ambience are so much better! not too sure about stuff quality but the staff quality are on par i suppose..
i did a lot of thinking in the steam room.
the conversation with my bosses took place last friday. i got the first arrow haha. i think we had a good talk. somehow, we discussed the salary amongst others. i hope there seriously will be some review!
they also enlightened me on something which i've overlooked. i'm no longer the me i used to be or i aimed to become.
then i discovered, not just in work, but in life generally.
no detailed description yet. wait till i succeed.
p/s: back pain from the massage.. pay money for pain? you bet..2 janvier a letter from the bosslast week, my boss sent us a 'short note'. some excerpts..

"We like you to tell us what you would like for the company to do and what part you yourself can play."
"Look at is as if you are joining a new company and intend to sell your capabilities to us."
"We want you to tell us what you will like to see your self do in the coming year." my question now.. how honest should i be?
 if i'm 100% honest, the first issue i'd be bringing up will be the fact that we are underpaid!
but you only tell that to the boss if you're super confident of your competency right? well, i am not.
another thing is, my current status doesn't allow me to expand my options and play more diverse roles.
i wan to work on site but my knowledge is not up to the standard yet.
i dun mind a overseas position but i've still got another 3 semesters before i complete my msc, so cannot cabut now.
i'm more interested in management and coordination works but i know i'm not proactive enough!
i dun reli wanna do design all the time - but it's the only thing i can do now!
besides these issues, i've also got to overcome my weaknesses! no 1 thing? late for work
 even voicing out my thoughts here is a bit risky.. although none of my colleagues know the existence of this space, but google is so helpful nowadays and u type in a name, and u'll get all the info you want!
and the basic mistake is my having used a real name!
i think i'll tell my boss that i want to concentrate on improving on my shortcomings while sitting in the office and do designs for the time being. but i reli wish to speak out about the pathetic paycheck lei... can i?

recapping some moments of december 2008.
the first time i reli woke up late for work! awaken to find the clock showing 8:35am! my first words: oh my god! well.. the cab fare cost me 20plus and the worst is, i had to run into my boss at the lift lobby. he had returned from a meeting already and i just reached!
 my xiaoyi's cute cute son and daughter, who always pleads with me to take pictures of them using my crappy phone camera..
 somehow.. i attended a wedding i never thought i would. she's made history in my life after all hahaha..
 then we had a meet-up that included a long-lost primary school fren, which turned out great! we even went for dessert and a drink after!
and i finally got my hands on a hellolulu laptop tote!
i've been to the counter for so many times i think those two aunties recognize me. thanks to all the various persons/groups that had to put up with my buy-not-buy attitude! firstly, it's the price.. and then, there's the color problem!
post-exam, started on a few projects:
 my first project: a diaper cake for lun's twins
 kg's thumb vs wayne's feet!
 second project: the wooden chest of drawers from ikea..
it's sgd25 and i still have to fix it up myself. when i saw those plastic ones going for sgd15 at giant later, really regretted my buy =(
took me the longest time to fix it up.. with my cousin's help. finally my aunt couldn't stand the knocking any longer and she settled the drawers in 10x my speed!
 third project: a shoe rack to move my shoes indoors!
but first of all, i've gotta throw some away.. hahaha
bishan's library has got lots and lotsa books! i see a whole collection of alexander mccall-smith! and also got my tractor book there haha
actual retrenchment scenario from a fren: 20+ ppl in the company. 10 quit and after retrenchment, there are only 6 ppl left now, including the CEO!
and then my results were released! BA-B = A hahahaha
also went for the longest lunch of work so far! haha, we were on half day but as some of us had to come back to office later on.. we went on a self-sponsored xmas lunch! another sign the economy's bad =(
then i had the honor of meeting a real-life michelin baby! 12kg at 5-month-old! incredible.. i dunno whether to comment the baby is fat or not though.. cuz dun reli know if the mum will like it haha. should have taken a pic of the cute little giant haha.
 sempena's ly's short stint in msia, we went to sing k at 2000... with frog included!
this year has been the most major spring cleaning for me.. i've thrown out lots and lotsa stuff that were categorized as 'memorable'.. i dunno why but this year i have a harsher attitude and decided to throw out/give away some of my over-the-years possessions..

haha, someone who have not fried an egg for bout 10years! seriously, i dislike cooking. this must have been only the 2nd/3rd egg i've fried. i'm the baking type can?! haha.. anyway, sometimes i have a craving for eggs.. like i do for potato chips! research shows that B-blooded ppl love eggs! i've found another witness apart from myself so far? any others out there?

1st paper: only studied 40% and went into the hall. buey kiasi.................................... died
2nd paper: glanced through 100%! had group study and one question came out sebiji! luckynyer.. but i still end up getting all the wrong answers.. *shakes head*
3rd paper: i'm gonna do so well! hahahahaha
 honestly, ppl used to say (and i also hope so la haha) that i have 考试运.. wa, i certainly hope i still have some left!

fn: wa.. longest title yet! 18 novembre having the whole house to myself..is pretty awesome. so far. haha..

anyway, last time dunno who told me, if your index (2nd) finger is longer than your ring (4th) finger, you are more likely to be a bully than be bullied. if it's the opposite..
 hehehe then the other day i came across another interpretation. those with longer ring fingers than their index fingers are better in science and maths.

and i got those pineapple tarts from my malacca trip. eat and eat and eat. now left two. not eating but not throwing them either. ???

health condition these days:
29 octobre craving for goreng pisang!goreng pisang used to be goreng pisang. then someday, some malay expert come and tell us, it should be 'pisang goreng'.. well, some ppl never learn.
my favorite goreng pisang is the one at kampung merdeka! haha, ppl say they fry together with plastic carrier. i dunno, but since i dun reli get to eat it all the time, i guess it should be fine. simply love the bananas, the dough, the crispy and the chilli.
i also used to like the one opposite ai chun school. that stall uses a different kind of banana. the bigger ones which are a bit sour. nice too =)
haha, my mama used to sell goreng pisang too. it's good too but she used another kind of powder and i still like the original tepung best.
incidents involving goreng pisang i can think of:
1. last time there was a warung near 7jm10. great for tea time. got keropok lekor too!
2. together with shum, once bought a packet of goreng pisang + keledek when passing through jb checkpoint. now i have an urge every time i pass by!
3. zhihao/zhitao bought a big pack of super cheap goreng pisang while we were at sabah but it did not look appetizing at all to me, so i did not have any.
4. last year, when ly and wy were back for their summer break, they sent me to the bus station once and as we were too early, we bought a pack of pisang to eat in wy's car! now sold off to dunno who le haha. the car i mean haha.
5. unrelated, but once when we were frying some fries for new year celebration, the stupid oil dripped onto my foot and i got a huge blister.. ar.. then hor, haha, i am thinking of what happened after that already.. and that means i could go on and on and on.. hehe, better stop! 23 octobre aiyoyo.. so much i wanna write!i was gonna write a post on the day i worked 2 years here! but it went by without my notice! 2 years... wow.

i wanted to write about my preferences when it comes to housework. why i love folding clothes the best.
some time back, i felt that i can relate to those contemplating suicide. it is scary the amount of not-in-their-right-minds ppl i see everyday.
i also wanna list down the list of superficial things i wanna do and health items i need to pay attention to. anyway, why bother to write about it. shud just get them done haha. hmm, maybe it's to list them down while i accumulate the funds for them haha.
and it's always always easier said than done. i know i did wrong and sounded rude but i jz can't bring myself to apologize. is it just a stupid culture?
also, i have 3 pairs of unworn shoes and dunno how many pieces of unworn clothes. time to take some pictures and hit ebay!
hmm.. i bought a coaster from macau unknowingly. cuz i thought of it as a fridge magnet. when i got back, somehow it turned into a coaster. ai, ok la, it is a coaster. my mistake.
well, i'm not exactly mindless at all times. i have this weird habit. whenever i'm walking alone, i will price whatever is on me and arrange them in order. hmm..
recently addicted to this one kind of kiam-kiam. 'arbutus' is wat the package says. it's some kind of hairy berries haha.
retrieved the songs i used to listen to during early university days. savage garden, cranberries, no doubt, wet wet wet, and all the japanese dorama songs. they sound so old now!
there was one auntie who wished to discuss the disadvantages of the new bus with me. but i was seriously not interested. i wonder did i succeed in trying to ignore her without seeming too rude haha.
one look at the calendar and it's 4 weekends to my first exam in 2 years! omg... and i have 3 assignments to complete
